The 4th Ward School, established in 1876 for miners’ children, underwent comprehensive restoration by Reyman Brothers Construction in 1984. Subsequent improvements have maintained its historical value while incorporating modern functionality.
Reyman Brothers’ restoration included original bell installation, porch, roof, windows, and expanded gift shop. Later projects added a North Tower with restrooms, balconies, and extensive exterior and interior restoration.
Preserving an 85-foot wooden structure with intricate redwood detailing demanded specialized expertise, combining historical authenticity with contemporary needs.
The 4th Ward School now seamlessly blends history and functionality. Ongoing efforts ensure its enduring legacy as a vibrant space for generations.
The project illustrates Reyman Brothers Construction’s mastery in historical restoration. Their adeptness in combining heritage with innovation showcases a commitment to conserving history while accommodating modern requirements.
